Apple Featuring the iOS 6 Beta for iPhone
Under the hood, the new iPhone has iOS 6, Darwin Kernel Version 13.0.0, and the ARM S5L8950X processor. This is expected to be a low-power dual core processor comparable to the one on the iPad 2. Its clock speed, however, is unknown. The GPU meanwhile is SGX543RC*, and will be part of the SoC as usual. The latest Gobi chips from Qualcomm, which offer low power consumption on China Mobile’s TD-LTE is also expected on the device. Apple will also increase the RAM on the device from the 512 MB found on today’s iPhone to a full gigabyte. With these, Apple is bringing a lot of changes to the iPhone. Whether or not the public likes these changes is uncertain. Nevertheless, Apple’s history shows that whatever it prepares is bound to please.
