More than 112,000 in Va. without electricity

Thousands of electricity customers in Virginia remain without service but utility crews are making progress.
As of Thursday morning, more than 112,000 customers across the state have no electricity due to last weekend's severe storms. That's down from a peak of about 1.2 million.
The outages include 84,995 Appalachian Power customers, 27,129 Dominion Virginia Power customers and hundreds of electric cooperative customers. Appalachian Power is a unit of American Electric Power Co. and Dominion Virginia Power is a unit of Dominion Resources Inc.
The storms have been blamed for 12 deaths in Virginia.
