The "Where Have You Been" singer was spotted inner tubing with friends Thursday during a playful afternoon in her home country of Barbados.
The 24-year-old smiled for photos with pals and sipped on a Corona while cruising on a boat in the waters outside her rented villa. Rihanna then threw on a life jacket and went for a ride on an inner tube, often getting thrown from the raft during the bumpy ride.
Though the star was seen visibly enjoying her time with friends, Rihanna was in Barbados for a somber reason. She was in her hometown to lay her beloved grandmother, Clara Braithwaite, to rest. Braithwaite passed away after a battle with cancer at a New York hospital on July 1.
“#grangranDOLLY I know you smiling down on me brightly, I could feel it in the sunshine #1Love forever,” the singer tweeted Thursday. “Gran Gran Dolly” is the nickname Rihanna used for her grandmother.
Rihanna's trip to Barbados comes the same week Forbes magazine ranked her the third-highest-paid celebrity under 30 years old. The songstress earned $53 million between May 2011 and May 2012 from her "Talk That Talk" album, an 85-day tour and endorsement deals with Nivea lotion and Vita Coco coconut water.
Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber beat out the Barbados beauty for the top two spots, respectively.
